Here are highlights from Joey Logano's media session this morning at Michigan International Speedway:

TALK A LITTLE ABOUT THIS WEEKEND AND HOW YOU FEEL YOUR CAR WILL BE HERE
“We will know how the car is in a little bit. You never know until you get on the race track. Michigan, the last few years with Team Penske has probably been my best race track so I am always excited to come here. For Team Penske, Roger Penske, this is their backyard and we really want to win for them and obviously for Ford. The manufacturers really take a lot of pride in winning at this race track. We put our best foot forward for this one and try to give it everything we’ve got. It has been a fun race the last few years and watching this race track widen out and the way the strategy works throughout it, it is fast too. It will be interesting to see what this new rules package does here entering the corners with the less drag and if we have less power it will be interesting to see where that all plays out and how the race will play out.”

FORD ANNOUNCED TODAY THEY ARE GOING BACK TO LE MANS NEXT YEAR WITH THE NEW FORD GT. DO YOU HAVE ANY DESIRE TO DO THAT OR TO RACE MAYBE THE ROLEX 24?
“I would like to. I think it would be cool to do. Most of the time you are so focused on what you are doing right now which for me is racing in NASCAR and trying to win a Sprint Cup championship. That is my number one goal right now and I don’t want to take anything away from that because I feel like I owe that to my team. They work their guts out and I should work my guts out and have one goal and focus 100-percent on it. Over the winter, running the Rolex 24 would be really cool and if that opportunity came up some day I think I would take it because it would be fun to go through it and get to drive those cars and learn what it is like and just go through the whole experience. Obviously that is a crown jewel event and one that you really want to win. It would be cool to have the opportunity someday.”

DO YOU THINK THIS COUNTRY DOES ENOUGH FOR THE VETRANS? YOU HAVE BEEN AROUND THEM AND SPOKEN TO THEM, WHAT ARE THEY TELLING YOU?
“I think we can always do more. I have been fortunate enough to go on a few USO tours and get to see firsthand what they are doing and get to hear their stories of what is going on. Anytime I get an opportunity like that I take advantage of it. It is really interesting to me and I feel it is the least we can do to go over there and shake their hand. That is one of the really cool things about being in racing and being someone that people know, is that there is something larger than just racing out there and I can use this popularity to give back and do something good. That is why we started the Joey Logano Foundation, to help people in need and give people second chances. A lot of guys in the military need a second change and our foundation does a lot with that. We can always do more and are always trying to raise money. The PVA has done a great job and I am sure they want to do more. That is why we are here today, trying to raise more money. It is something that I feel like we are all called to do, to give back to society and help people out when we need it. It is sometimes hard not to be selfish. You have to be able to look at the big picture and realize there is something bigger than just your life.”
